Amid opposition from the media, Democrats and even members of his own party, President Trump has fulfilled many of his campaign promises in his first year.
One issue that stands out in a list of some 180 accomplishments is the issue of life.
He’s been plain-spoken on the issue, declaring at the annual March for Life this month, “We cherish the sacred dignity of every human life.”
It’s one of the reasons tens of thousand of people already have joined an online Thank Trump Card Campaign that gives ordinary Americans a way to thank the president for his record of achievement on behalf of the American people.
The White House posted online, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Roe decision through which the Supreme Court created the right to abortion in America, a list of his pro-life actions.
He was the first sitting president ever to address the March for Life, one year after he asked his vice president, Mike Pence, to address the event.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health and Human Services announced a proposal to revise conscience regulations to protect Trump’s promise to enforce federal religious freedom protections.
The plan includes restricting taxpayer funds — including Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare– from being used by entities with discriminatory policies or practices.
It also provides for protections for Americans who have religious or moral convictions related to certain health care services.
And it recognizes that Americans should not be discriminated against for their religious or moral beliefs when participating in certain health services.
It was shortly after President Trump took office that he restored, and expanded, the Mexico City policy, which prevents $9 billion in foreign aid from being used for overseas abortions.
He also cut off American funding for the U.N. Population Fund, which colludes with China’s cruel program of forced abortion and sterilization.
He overturned a “midnight regulation” from Barack Obama that prevented states from defunding certain abortion businesses in family planning programs and has expressed strong support for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
He’s also issued guidance that enforces the requirement that taxpayer funds not support abortions in Obamacare exchange plans .
Issues that remain, the White House said, include America’s provisions for elective abortions after 20 weeks and taxpayer funding that subsidizes health care plans promoting abortion.
A recent Marist-Knights of Columbus poll, the White House said, shows 56 percent of Americans believe abortion to be morally wrong, and even six in 10 of those who identify as pro-choice support restrictions on abortion.

“As President Trump heads into a new year, it’s important he doesn’t lose the courage and boldness that have enabled him to defy the establishment and get so much done for the American people,” said Joseph Farah, CEO of WND and creator of the campaign. “Given all the opposition he faces, it would be too easy for him to surrender to the forces that besiege him.”
That’s why ThankTrump.us is so important. As 2018 begins, it is a perfect time to look back with thankfulness to the man who made 2017 such a great year for America.
The campaign has been endorsed by leading conservatives such as Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity and covered by news outlets such as Breitbart News and InfoWars.com. The Conservative Tribune is also among the list of promoters.
